Alex's Great State Race: ROTC cadets run game ball from MSU to UM - VIDEO
About 35 ROTC cadets from both the University of Michigan and Michigan State University carried game balls for the Saturday, Oct. 29 rivalry game 66 miles from the Sparty statue on MSU’s campus in East Lansing to Angell Hall in Ann Arbor, during Alex’s Great State Race, traveling through Stockbridge, Chelsea and Dexter along the way. Cadets took turns during the Friday, Oct. 28 run, with eight at a time bearing flags representing both schools and a pair of game day footballs, and averaged a pace of about nine minutes per mile. Students and staff from both schools’ centers for students with disabilities joined the group in the last several miles.
